Senior Technical Lead / CTO-track
Senior Technical Lead / CTO-track
EUrouter is growing fast. We recently went live and are seeing market demand grow faster than our current technical capacity. That is why we are looking for a senior technical builder who can take ownership of the backend, infrastructure, and scalability of the platform.
This is not a standard developer role. You will be one of the first people on the team and will have direct influence on how EUrouter is technically built. The role starts hands-on, but has the potential to grow into a CTO-like or possibly co-founder-level position.

About EUrouter
EUrouter is building the European gateway to AI. We help companies use AI models safely, scalably, and with control through one central technical layer. Think model access, routing, integrations, observability, limits, reliability, and European data infrastructure.
We are not building "just another AI tool." We are building the infrastructure companies can rely on for their AI usage, all from our European roots!
Why this role matters now
The first phase was about speed: building, validating, helping customers, and proving there is demand. That demand is there. Now we need to make the technical foundation more mature.
That means a stronger backend, better infrastructure, more stability, better monitoring, more integrations, and a platform that is ready for larger customers and higher expectations.
You will be the person helping shape this technically.
What you will do
From day one, you will take significant ownership of the technical side of EUrouter. You will mainly work on backend, infrastructure, and DevOps, but in a small team you may also pick up frontend, database work, or integrations when needed.
Concretely, you will work on:
- Making the platform more stable, scalable, and reliable.
- Backend, APIs, database, deployments, monitoring, and infrastructure.
- New features and integrations with AI models, tools, and external systems.
- Security, performance, observability, and enterprise-readiness.
- Technical decisions that directly impact the product and customers.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has built serious software before and has seen it run in production. You understand what reliability, scalability, monitoring, deployments, and technical ownership really mean. You are pragmatic, fast, critical, and independent.
You do not need to be a machine learning researcher, but you do need to be deeply interested in AI. You follow the latest developments around LLMs, agents, AI tools, model providers, and developer workflows. You also use modern AI tools yourself to build faster and smarter.
You are a strong fit for this role if you:
- Have senior experience with backend, infrastructure, and DevOps.
- Enjoy working hands-on and do not wait until everything is perfectly defined.
- Take ownership of product, code, and technical decisions.
- Get energy from an early-stage startup environment.
- Are technically strong, but can also think commercially and from a product perspective.
- Are actively engaged with AI and modern developer tooling.
What makes this role attractive
You will join early at an AI company that already has momentum. You will not own a narrow piece of a large system, but will get the chance to shape the technical foundation of EUrouter. What you build will directly determine how fast and how well we can grow.
This is a role with a lot of freedom, responsibility, and impact. If the collaboration is strong, the position can grow into a broader technical leadership role, for example toward CTO.
How we work together
I like to work fast, directly, and with a lot of responsibility and trust. Especially in the beginning, we will work closely together, discuss technical decisions, and move quickly. I am looking for someone who communicates proactively, sees what needs to be done, and feels real ownership over the product.
I prefer working together in person regularly. That does not mean five days a week in an office, but Amsterdam or nearby is strongly preferred. I will arrange a place where we can work together.
- Direct collaboration with the founder.
- Fast feedback loops, direct communication, and high context.
- Hybrid setup, with regular in-person work in Amsterdam.
I am not looking for somebody with a 9-5 mentality. You should have intrinsic motivation to be part of a successful startup from day one!
Interested?
Do you think you are the person who can take the technical foundation of EUrouter to the next level? I would love to talk.
